Abstract
The data on absorption of electrons in thin slabs were obtained using a method of trajectory rotation [Nucl. Inst. and Meth. B 108 (1996) 276]. The dependencies of absorption quantities (absorption coefficients and distributions of charge deposited from primary electrons) on the slab thickness, the material, the initial energy of electrons and the incident angle of an electron beam are studied. The simple semiempirical equation for the estimation of the absorption coefficients is obtained. It is concluded that absorption of an electron beam in a target strongly depends on its surroundings
