Abstract :
This paper discusses the stochastic behaviour of two intermittently-used 2-unit cold-standby redundant systems, subject to slide and strict PM (preventive maintenance) policies, under general assumptions for all distributions. We derive the Laplace-Stieltjes Transform of i) distribution of first-passage time to system disappointment, ii) probability that the system is under disappointment at time t, iii) s-expected number of system disappointments. We employ Markov renewal processes technique to obtain these measures.
