Abstract :
Two modes of system failure are possible: Mode 1 is removed by minimal repair, mode 2 by replacement. A generalized block replacement policy is introduced. The long-run cost rate is given. Integral equations of the renewal type for the basic reliability expressions are derived. A numerical example is presented.
