Abstract :
As president of the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS), I have the privilege to attend a number of conferences sponsored by our Society. It is great to see the amazing productive work done by the IAS volunteers, and we need to give them our heartfelt thanks for their dedication. In the end, they produce an incredible diversity of venues and events mirroring the variety of disciplines and work in which IAS members are involved. Speaking about diversity, it is also interesting to reflect and see how intertwined these events are, each in their own way, with the specific industry they serve and represent.
