Abstract :
Gloria Reinish was the first woman to graduate from the Columbia University School of Engineering. She received the degrees of B.S. in electrical engineering, M.S. in electrical engineering, and doctor of engineering science in bioengineering, all from Columbia. She worked in research and development at Bell Labs and at Sperry Gyroscope Company, where she received a patent on a radar ranging system. She married a chemical engineer and raised three children (two daughters and a son), all of whom are engineers.
