Abstract :
The inauguration of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) Izmir Student Chapter was held on 1 March 2010 at the Dokuz Eylul University (DEU) in Izmir, Turkey. This Student Chapter is a multidisciplinary working group where all research projects and studies are shared and scientifically critiqued by researchers and students engaged in biomedical engineering. The EMBS Izmir group has a leading advantage, thanks to its interdisciplinary membership, including engineering and basic science, strengthening the liaison between the medicine and engineering faculties.
