Abstract :
Reliability and safety engineers are frequently searching for relatively rare items such as defective connections in a core auxiliary cooling system. They are involved with the problem of determining how large a sample should be taken from a finite dichotomous population when the proportion of defective items is thought to be small. We present a non-Bayesian and a Bayesian approach to determine sample size.
