Abstract :
There is a need for the development of a lightweight electromagnetic shield that can be easily installed and maintained to provide high-performance shielding for electric gun barrels. In the past few years, there have been advancements in the development of lightweight material, which could be quite useful in the electric gun technology. Material is TI-Shield, manufactured by instruments, Inc. TI-Shield is lightweight, multi-layered, shielding material of copper-alloy49-copper. The copper-alloy49-copper are bonded by a cladding process and is available in thicknesses from 0.02-0.04 cm. Subscale tests were conducted using a sample of this composite material, and the results are for overall shielding effectiveness for fields, in the frequency range extending from 30 Hz-3 kHz
