Abstract
Discusses frequency-synthesized AM/FM electronic tuning which is the latest word in automobile radios as Detroit´s GM, Ford, and Chrysler apply the state of the art in phase-locked loops, varactor tuning, and calculator-type logic. The main advantages are increased tuning accuracy, a virtually complete lack of frequency drift caused by temperature and voltage variations, and a potential decrease in both size and weight.
