Abstract :
The goal of the conference was to highlight media technology leading to advanced disk drive products in the next three to five years. The topics covered included: tribology; proximity recording; zone texturing; test and characterization; magnetic and media microstructures; media for recording densities beyond 2 Gb/in2.
