Abstract
Events at the Three Mile Island nuclear plant in Pennsylvania have drastically altered the activities and viewpoint of all parties with an interest in nuclear power: the utilities, regulatory bodies, the news media, and the general public. The ramifications of the nuclear accident will be explored in a future issue of Spectrum. Meanwhile it is interesting to note the impact of the event on one country: Sweden. In some respects, the history of nuclear power in Sweden represents a microcosm of events in all advanced nations.
