Abstract :
The authors report continuous wave operation of a monolithic two-mode optical flip-flop with orthogonal light outputs. Bistable states with large ON/OFF ratios are demonstrated. The states can be switched with short electrical pulses. The device could function as an optical memory in future time-division switching networks
