            Abstract : 
The code reading error probability is estimated in SAW tag systems employing peak-pulse detection with pulse position coding assuming M groups having N slots each. The error is found as a function of the signal-to-noise ratio, proving an extremely reliable deciphering of the tag code for SNR > 20 dB, meaning less than 1 false per billion of reading.
