Abstract :
Practical reliability measures are developed for a 2-component system whose behavior can be modeled as a regenerative process. The system lifetime is distributed as a random variable of phase type. An example computation of a reliability measure is included to illustrate the tractability of the results and their usefulness in design decisions.
