Abstract :
For the transmission of transcoded video over available bit rate (ABR) networks, it is demonstrated how, by the use of a small smoothing buffer and a linear queue control algorithm implemented at the transcoder, the cell queueing delay can be significantly reduced while the picture quality of the transmitted ABR sources is optimised
