Abstract :
Centralized integration of wind power causes challenges to the conventional dispatching method. This paper develops a three-level active power control system for a wind farm cluster(WFC) based on hierarchical principle, which includes the dispatching center, WFC main control station and wind farm execution stations. Besides the design scheme of the control interfaces between the main station and the execution stations, an active power control strategy towards the main station is also put forward, making it possible to determine active power control mode and fast calculate active power instruction values online. The proposed control strategy turns out to be effective in enhancing wind power penetration and reducing resource waste.
