Abstract :
A compact UWB polygon slot antenna with improved band-notched characteristics using a parasitic strip and a parasitic slit is presented. The antenna has a parasitic strip embedded inside the polygon slot and an isolated slit employed in the bevelled T-stub. The desired excellent band-notched UWB operation can be obtained by choosing the sizes of the parasitic strip and slit. The proposed antenna has a small size of 18??24??0.8??mm, and a nearly omnidirectional radiation pattern, which is suitable for use in various portable UWB antenna applications.
