Abstract :
In this letter, a novel printed monopole antenna is proposed. The antenna has multiband characteristics covering DCS, PCS, UMTS, WLAN, and WiMAX applications. The use of multisegment circular structure in the antenna design provides good impedance matching. The prototype of the multiband antenna was implemented, and the return loss was compared to that obtained by measurement. The results indicate that the proposed antenna achieves desired performance from the point views of flexibility in controlling bandwidths and central frequencies.
