Abstract :
A general overview of the potential sources of electric shock in laboratory environments is presented. After a general review of 60 Hz 120/240 V electrical power supplies, the author discusses the basics of grounding, protection equipment and devices, codes and standards, the effects of electricity on the human body, electrical parameters for 60 Hz shocks, high-voltage safety principles, and typical laboratory accidents
