  • Abstract
The other day, Marjorie Damon went to the Wellesley, Mass., town dump. Ms. Damon is a columnist for the Wellesley Townsman, a weekly newspaper having a circulation of some 7800 readers. Going to the town dump is something of a tradition in New England, for it is there that one catches up on news of the neighbors, and engages in caucuses regarding agenda items for the annual town meeting.
