Abstract :
This paper considers the sequence impedance and equivalent circuit of an HVDC converter and system. The results can be used in the steady state analysis of power systems containing HVDC terminals with systems operating under balanced or unbalanced conditions. The effects of commutation overlap are considered. The method described provides a simple model for steady state studies for power systems containing converters and HVDC links
