Abstract :
We present a device which produces changes in the slope of its transmitted spectra via an applied bias, a spectrally linear optical power equalizer (SLOPE) device. This device may have application for equalizing power levels in optical networks when simple gain tilt is all that is required, for example in optical power amplifiers.
