Abstract
The authors comment on the usage in the original paper (Abate, Barmish, Murillo-Sanches and Tempo, ibid., vol.2, p.22-30, 1994) of a previously published equation for internal combustion engine sampling period calculation. They then point out a need for inclusion of induction-to-power delay when dealing with models of low-speed engine operations such as around idle speed.
