Abstract
A method using the Schwarz-Christoffel transformation is presented in order to model a doubly connected source-free two-dimensional domain. The method can be usefully applied to simulate field regions characterised by irregularly shaped boundaries. Using this method, the analysis of an electrostatic micromotor is developed considering both centred and off-centred rotor geometries; in particular, the friction effect caused by the radial displacement of the rotor during its motion is simulated.
