Abstract
The use of a single-mode fiber as the nonlinear medium in a second-harmonic-generation (SHG) autocorrelator to measure picosecond optical pulses is demonstrated. This is made possible by the fact that the frequency doubling in fibers is a second-order parametric process for IR input power less than 6 kW. Measurements of the IR-input-power dependence of the SHG are also described
