Abstract
Due to manufacturing simplicity and high power density, stator outer water cooling is utilized to achieve better cooling effects and the spiral cooling ducts are employed to increase the heat transfer capability. To obtain the thermal and hydraulic performance of a water jacket, a experiment method for water jacket is present. The proposed method is derived from winding function, and both winding factor and loss factor are considered. Three different multi-layer windings are designed by the proposed method for an 18 slots-16 poles FSCW. Finite element analysis is employed to validate the proposed method.
