Abstract
An efficient method for real-time periodic interference suppression on telephone lines is proposed. The periodicity of the interference Is exploited by an adaptive phase-locked buffer (APLB), which is used to create the antiphase noise replica. Computer simulations are used to compare the APLB approach with the traditional least mean squares (LMS) algorithm in an adaptive noise cancellation configuration. The new technique outperforms the LMS noise canceller and proves to be a very efficient solution to the power line interference problem
