Abstract
With all the attention focused on nuclear power ills, the fact remains that 1 3 percent of the electricity used in the United States today is generated by nuclear power plants. They will continue to be run, but they must be operated safely and efficiently. And with all the recent press coverage of plant cancellations, it is easily forgotten that 42 more plants are still under construction. If they are to be completed even nearly on time and reasonably within budget, they must be completed efficiently, and if they are to operate safely, quality construction must be ensured.
