  • Abstract
In the rest, two equivalent circuit models, the first-order resistance-capacitance (RC) model and the second-order RC model, were investigated for a lithium-ion battery. The Gauss-Newton (G-N) least square was applied to identify the two model parameters because of its nonlinear estimation and iteration. The lithium-ion battery rested respectively at three SOC points as 20%, 50%, and 80%. Results show that the second-order RC model presents better approximation for the real battery terminal voltage than the first-order whether the battery charges or discharges.
