Abstract
A non-conventional electric machine is investigated in this paper. Since this machine has two free rotating rotors (Dual Mechanical Port) and one of them is a Squirrel-Cage rotor, it is named as the SCDMP machine. Based on the steady state equivalent circuit of the SCDMP machine, the rotor flux reference equivalent circuits are derived. Then the control principle for the machine is proposed. Simulation result shows that the proposed control principle can effectively control flux levels and torque productions of the two rotors.
