    In response to ¿crisis¿ labels that had been attached to engineering education in the United States five or six years ago, the National Research Council undertook a study lasting some two years. Its report was released in May 1985. Entitled ¿Engineering Education and Practice in the United States,¿ it dealt with undergraduate education, graduate education and research, continuing education, and utilization of engineers.
