Abstract
Iterative solutions are presented that bridge the gap between solutions of static fields and those of time-varying fields. It is shown that iterative methods of analysis are simple mathematically and avoid more complicated wave functions that occur in cylindrical and spherical coordinates. They apply to problems in which sources have spatial symmetry, and can produce results of sufficient accuracy to many practical engineering problems. These methods also provide better insight into the relationship of sources and their fields and the way one field acts as the source for another. Thus, presentation of such examples to students reinforces their knowledge of electromagnetics and leads to a better understanding of the relationship between sources and their fields
