Abstract
A compact wavelength-shifting fibre (WSF) gamma camera for 140 keV gamma rays has been developed and an evaluation of its performance is presented and discussed. A spatial resolution of 4 mm FWHM was achieved which is comparable to that of modern Anger cameras. Simulation results predict a spatial resolution better than 3 mm if the WSF signals are 3 times higher than those obtained experimentally ways of achieving this goal are discussed
