Abstract
This paper proposes a DC-AC resonant converter for wireless power transfer systems based on the pulse power injection technology. By adopting the topology of a pulse power generator and injecting the energy into resonant tank discretely, the proposed converter produces the required high frequency output track current with significantly lower switching frequency. Thus the switching losses of the proposed inverter are significantly reduced and the high power, low speed semiconductor switches can be used in high frequency IPT system. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the output current is fully controllable with good waveforms for wireless power-transfer applications.
