  • Abstract
This letter presents a hybrid genetic algorithm (GA) method to solve optimal power flow (OPF) in power systems incorporating flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS). In the solution process, GA is integrated with conventional OPF to select the best control parameters to minimize the total generation fuel cost and keep the power flows within the security limits. A case study using an IEEE test system is presented to demonstrate its applicability
