Abstract :
The multidimensional Dirac delta function and the Heaviside unit step function are shown to be analytical tools of use in solving classical demonstrations of Gauss´s Law in electrostatics. Applications in spherically symmetric and cylindrically symmetric scenarios are presented-and verified by the differential form of Gauss´s Law
