Abstract
An asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) transport network operation system conforming to the telecommunications management network (TMN) architecture has been designed, implemented, and deployed by NTT Japan. This operation system has a distributed architecture with a managed object location transparency function and has been developed using a state-of-the-art development toolkit in order to reduce the development time and number of developers.
