Abstract :
Multiphase inverters attract increasing interest due to the advantages of its multiphase drive applications. Carrier-based PWM (CPWM) is generally used to modulate multiphase inverters because of its simplicity over other PWM methods. This paper proposes four kinds of CPWM methods for a two-level five-phase inverter, and compares their performance in THD, low-frequency harmonic and high-frequency harmonic content of output current in each phase.
