  • Abstract
PMSM has become the mainstream motor of electric vehicles. The fault-tolerant ability of PMSM “limp home”, is critical to safe operation of electric vehicles. Researches on the internal short-circuit fault-tolerant operation of PMSM are rare at present. Multi-loop theory is adopted to establish the accurate and general internal short-circuit model, through the different values of short-circuit coefficients to simulate turn-to-turn, interphase, and the neutral point short circuit fault. Studying the fault-tolerant ability of PMSM, to see how the quantitative output torque is changing as the severity of fault, quantitative fault-tolerant operation index, and improve the security of the PMSM.
