Abstract :
A novel method for line detection is presented, based on a modified weighted Hough transform. A given binary image is decomposed into connected regions whose contribution to the accumulator array is determined as a function of appropriate shape descriptors. The method is successfully applied to demanding image processing and computer vision problems where the original Hough transform fails to produce satisfactory results
