Abstract
Issues associated with the interconnection of common channel signaling (CCS) networks are identified. Protocol additions to support exchange access services are discussed. Possible extensions for circuit-switched services beyond basic exchange access, as well as further extensions of Signaling System No.7 to support non-circuit-associated signaling between carriers, are described.<>
