  • Abstract
Today, most enterprises are not capable of developing all the technologies and innovations they need for staying competitive on their own. Thus technology transfer (inter-/intra-organizational) and supporting infrastructure is once again gaining importance. Web-based socio-technical portals offer great potential for supporting technology transfer by bringing together technology demand and offer. However, they must be designed carefully in order to meet future users´ needs. Based on literature research and empirical interviews, a requirements model for technology transfer portals is developed, taking into account the characteristics of the transfer partners as well as the technologies to be transferred. This will enable the design of such portals to be done in a more systematic way and pave the way for successful operation.
