  • Abstract
A theoretical approach is used to examine possible advantages of operating in real time instead of in the frequency domain to obtain information about the noise characteristics of sampled signals. Available instrumentation permits the practical realization of the approach. It is suggested that the use of a microprocessor will make it economical and easy to achieve apparatus that is able to process signals by the technique proposed
