Abstract
The issue of bearing current failures is receiving increasing attention. Traditional bearing current effects with large machines have been well documented, but inverter operation introduces new high-frequency effects. This article therefore highlights potential areas of concern in premature bearing failure, explains the associated mechanisms, and examines the available preventive measures, with the aim of providing essential user guidance.
