Abstract
The author explains a new error control technique, turbo codes, from the point of view of dynamical systems. The convergence of the iterative decoding process of turbo codes can be argued using the concept of iterated function systems. Turbo decoders can be defined using the hyperbolic iterated function systems, while the transmitted data is their attractor
