The performance and cooling of cast-in-concrete reactors

The general thermal characteristics of the cast-in-concrete type of reactor and the most effective ventilation arrangements are described, followed by an account of recent developments in boosted ventilation. Details are given of the increased performance obtainable by jet boosting, and the paper concludes with a description of actual installations in service and methods of control adopted.
