ARO scheme with combined channel coding and modulation using noncoherent detection

A new method for the combination of channel coding and modulation with noncoherent detection in automatic-repeat-request protocols is described. This scheme can be used in automatic-repeat-request protocols in which each codeword is transmitted m >or= 2 times consecutively. Theoretical analysis shows that this scheme offers a net increase in the performance with respect to other similar protocols.
