Abstract :
The issue the selection of operating conditions for stabiliser design in multimachine power systems is discussed, and a method is proposed to conduct the selection so as to achieve robust design of multiple fixed-parameter stabilisers. The co-ordination among different types of stabilisers, such as PSS, and FACTS-based stabilisers, is considered by the method proposed. An example three-machine power system is demonstrated in the paper, where a TCSC-based stabiliser and PSS are designed in co-ordination to damp two-mode oscillations. The correct selection of operating conditions for the stabiliser design has made them robust to the variations of system operating conditions
