Abstract :
There are many parameters involved in every aspect of power system protection design. Many of them need to be determined unequivocally. However, in practical engineering, both the factors affecting them, and the design knowledge to determine them, may contain uncertainties, which result in fuzziness of the parameters and defects in the design quality. The paper proposes a fuzzy decision-making method for an expert system to deal with the uncertainty of the parameters decision both in knowledge representation and in the inference model. An application of the decision-making system is presented, demonstrating that the method is reasonable and effective. The model proposed has been incorporated into the design of an expert system, greatly extending the capability and scope of intelligent design
