Abstract :
A 1½-D spectrum approach, rather than a bispectrum approach, is proposed for estimating quadratic phase coupling. It is claimed that the former method has a much lower computational burden than the latter method. Where a complex signal is concerned, the 1½-D spectrum approach can be adapted to obtain the coupled and coupling components separately. A new efficient approach to cubic phase coupling estimation is also presented
